Blue Skye has a range of associates through which to deliver a comprehensive training and consultancy service. Our associates are drawn from  various disciplines including social work, education, psychology, health, business, and the arts. 

 

All Blue Skye trainers and consultants have current practice and managerial experience and are respected in their professional fields. They  are governed by a professional code of conduct, and have a genuine commitment to the values which underpin their profession.

Vance Finnon : BSc (Hon), Dip PolGovt

 

Vance has an Honours degree in Social Science with Politics and a Diploma in Government. He is a qualified social worker and is registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.

He  is an  experienced  practitioner, manager and trainer with both the statutory and voluntary sectors, covering child protection, criminal and youth justice, community safety, and adult services. He is also respected for his service design and development work.

Vance combines his Blue Skye responsibilities with a management role with the City of Edinburgh Council.

He is  also the architect of the  the LMART System, a unique approach to multi-agency working and service delivery, designed in 2001.To view the LMART system in action, click on : www.tayside.police.uk/whereangusyip_v2.php

Vance is an SVQ Assessor, an experienced Social Work Practice Teacher and is a member of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW).

Nick Kyle B.A. (Hons), Dip. Ed, Dip. I.E. 

Nick has a joint honours degree in Education (first class) and English (Second Class, upper division) and a Diploma in Education from Stirling University. He also has a Diploma in Instrumental Enrichment and is registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

He has many years' experience as a secondary school teacher, senior manager and teacher trainer in Scotland and has considerable experience of leading innovative practice and multi-disciplinary work with disaffected young people and their families. 

Over the years, Nick has developed practical techniques to help people of all ages to enrich their professional and personal lives, gaining a reputation for delivering inspirational training that improves the performance and well-being of individuals and teams. He is an engaging public speaker, nationally and internationally.

Katrina Finnon MSc, MA (Ord), Dip SW, AASW

 

Katrina  has a Masters in Social Work Management from Stirling University. She graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Psychology and Sociology before qualifying as a social worker from Dundee University. She also holds an Advanced Award in Social Work.  

 

She is an experienced and respected social work practitioner and  manager, and a qualified trainer. Her work has spanned all local authority service areas including children and families, criminal justice, adult services, and strategy and performance. 

Katrina combines her strategy and performance work with university tutoring, script marking and critical reading in relation to Health and Social Care courses.

In her current post she specialises in Child Protection, Substance Misuse and Violence against Women. She has particular experience in writing protocols, policies, procedures and guidelines both for single service and multi-agency.

Katrina is registered with the Scottish Social Services Council and is a member of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW).

               Dr Iain Bourne

Iain trained and qualified in Leeds, London and Bristol. He worked in and managed adolescent and forensic mental health units during his early career. Later he moved into training and consultancy, and although his focus has always been crisis community mental health his notoriety has brought him in touch with almost all arenas where danger may exist, locally and abroad.

Iain is best known for his training style which incorporates an unusual mixture of original material, humour and “terror” in equal proportions.
