2 day course: Managing Safer Practice


This course is designed for front line managers. Ideally, participants will have undertaken our Safer Practice Managing Conflict Course but this is not a requirement.
Experienced practitioners preparing to move into a frontline manager’s post will also benefit.
 
The aim of the course is to assist front line managers improve the practice of other staff and to develop the basic skills to manage their staff in a safe and effective way.

 By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Define and identify safe and unsafe practice situations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and apply, management theory
  • Define your role in managing safe practice
  • Explain the principles of Pro-Social management
  • Identify polices, procedures and legislation which governs safe practice
  • Identify methods and techniques to deal with unsafe practice in others
  • Explain the principles of effective communication
  • Apply theory of decision making to safe practice
  • Understand and apply various methods of supervision to enhance staff performance
